(one of eight paintings in “The Heart Goes On” collection)
I created the “love, rose” greeting card line to honor my mom Rosemary’s devotion to lifting spirits by sending people special cards. The logo is actually made from her beautiful handwriting, which graced so many cards and envelopes during her lifetime.
A faithful card and letter writer, she had drawers and drawers of cards for every occasion and her desk was always a work in progress reflecting the many people on her heart.
While she was always there with a card to mark a special occasion, or a note to express her gratitude for friendship and fun, she was especially committed to sending cards to people needing encouragement and love. I learned — after she passed away on Feb. 28, 2015 from Lewy Body Disease — that she didn’t just acknowledge a difficult time once. Her hand-written loving presence was a steady stream throughout people’s journeys as long as the pain continued.
These cards are a special way to celebrate joyful times, to walk with the suffering and their caregivers, and to comfort those who mourn.
