A simple question from an curious onlooker led to doors of grace: “What are you writing?” she asked.
As I talked about my writing practices and the valuable insights I receive during my time on the page, a deeper conversation unfolded — and soon I learned the inquiry belonged to a woman in her 9th decade of life who yearned to write.
Writing classes can be expensive, she shared. And I agreed.
“Why couldn’t I give this experience to others for a more accessible fee?” I asked.
And just a few short months later I had my first doors of grace class in my new studio at 1330 Quincy St. NE!
Here are a few quotes from that first class.
“Opening the doors of grace helped me see the past in new light — and it’s also slowing me down in a way that allows me to notice more in the present.”
“It’s helped me value myself — and others — differently. Events from my past have been transformed before my eyes on the page.”
“I’ve learned that the pen in my hand is a powerful way to engage my mind and heart. We can write to undo the blocks we put in place — and once you learn how to unlock it, it’s absolutely free to practice!”
“Julie helped me get past comparing myself to others and learn to let the stream of consciousness work to inform and astonish myself.”
“Doors of Grace delivered blessings beyond measure. You are a skilled, gentle guide to self awareness and living fully. Thank you for sharing the journey!”
