The second session of Into Your Heart is devoted to silence and stillness.
I reflected this morning on my journey with Christian Meditation, noticing how it has awakened in me a trust that God is at work in me and in my relationships and in the world in ways that are undetectable to me. My mind wants to control this, enhance it or edit it.
My heart wants to let it have its way with me and allow myself to be carried within it, helping it manifest by holding the stance of least resistance.
“How can I best do this?” was the question this morning. The response brought me to meditation practice.
Practice, for me, is a way to create fertility for God to be expressed through my own being. It’s a commitment to spending time with the Beloved each day, remaining still and alert, noticing what comes up and releasing it, creating space for Love to grow.

In writing this in my journal this morning, I immediately thought of my parents who modeled this throughout their marriage and especially in the last years, days and minutes of my mom’s life.

I was privileged to bear witness to this bareness of being between two humans which made the presence of God palpable. I feel overwhelmed by the power of this Love recalling it in this present moment; I am awake to the mystery of our earthly relationships bearing the spark of the divine within.
May your time in the stillness connect you with the ever-loving Source which will make your communion with others here on earth one of simple presence with no agenda.
